Village of Freeport Building and Zoning Department

The Incorporated Village of Freeport Building Department is responsible for administering and enforcing the building, plumbing, electrical and housing codes. The Building Department also regulates and governs multiple residences, place of public assembly, unsafe buildings and the use and maintenance of real property in the Incorporated areas of Freeport.

Most construction, plumbing and electrical work requires a permit from the Building Department and must conform to the N.Y.S. Uniform Fire Protection & Building Code, as well as other Village of Freeport related codes.
